Eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, eyebrow tinting

The eyes are truly “the windows of the soul” and, as such, they deserve the best treatment that we can possibly give them. I offer eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping, eyebrow tinting or maybe just an eyebrow tidy up in any combination.

Prior to doing any work in your eye area, I cleanse with a cooling eye make-up remover and then dry it so that eyelashes and brows are ready for treatment and applications.

Eyelash Tinting - The tinting process follows these steps:

Application of Vaseline to the eye area to prevent any dye coming directly into contact with the skin under the eye.
Mixing of the 10% peroxide solution and vegetable based dye. Vegetable dye is chosen as it is not damaging to the eyes should it come into contact.
Using a small brush the solution is applied to the lashes on closed eyes. The lashes are gently dabbed with dye solution to cover the eyelash from root to tip.
An eye pad is applied for warmth and the solution is left to lay thickly on the lashes for 6 - 10 minutes for the tint to lift.
The eyelashes are cleansed with cooling eye pads, removing any excess tint from around the eye area and protective Vaseline.

Eyebrow Tinting - The tinting process follows these steps:

Colour is mixed and applied to eyebrows with a brush.
The vegetable based dye is left for 2 minutes to lift.
Eyebrows are cleansed with cooling eye pads to remove remaining tint from eyebrows.

Eyebrow Shaping - Eyebrows are shaped by a combination of waxing and plucking. The shaping process follows these steps:

Warm wax is applied along excess hair using an application tool.
Narrow strips of fabric are applied to the wax and eyebrow skin is held taught.
Fabric strips are pulled back against the hair growth for terminal hair growth.
Plucking is used to define eyebrow areas above and below the eyebrow line.
An oil based solution is applied to remove any wax residue.
An aloe vera cooling lotion is applied to prevent any infection and to cool down any redness.
To relieve any heat in the eyebrow area cooling toner is gently applied around the eyes.

Concerns about eyelash and eyebrow tinting - I ask you to have a patch test 24 hours prior to treatment. This is to ensure you have no adverse reaction to the products used. You should also not be suffering from a sty, an eye infection, a sore or an irritated eye area because my treatment may worsen your condition. Contact lenses must be removed before having any eye care treatment. At first, tinting looks fantastic but in time will gradually fade. The eyelash hairs fall out with a life span of nearly 4 weeks. As the tinted lash falls out, another (naturally coloured) lash grows in its place, and continues the hair growth cycle. For this reason I suggest that the eyelash tint lasts about 3 to 4 weeks. The eyebrow tint lasts about 2 weeks as we continually cleanse and exfoliate our face, washing it away over time.
